Fortune Tires And Austone Tires are entering the Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship
Fortune and Austone sign three year contract with Garret Trucksport
Starting in 2025, the two brands from PRINX Chengshan will be the main sponsors of Garret Trucksport. The team, led by driver Luke Garret; son of British truck racing legend Ross Garret, is entering its second full season in the European Championship
As of 2025, AUSTONE and Fortune Tires will be official sponsors of the Garret Trucksport racing team. Driver and team owner Luke Garret is a three-time British champion. His debut as a full-time contender in the 2024 European Championship season was also highly promising. His father, Ross Garret, was a truck racing icon and remains Luke’s greatest role model—signs point to a strong and exciting career on the European circuit.
The sponsorship includes financial support for the team and a flat-rate tyre supply for the trucks. The three-year contract was officially signed on April 28 in London.
For Austone and Fortune Tires, the parallels between their own journey and that of the British racing team were key in sealing the deal: “We’ve been successfully active in Europe for several years now. Compared to brands that have been established for decades, however, we still have newcomer status,” explains Managing Director Thomas Wohlgemuth. “Like Garret’s team, we’re highly motivated and rely on top-quality equipment and a perfectly coordinated crew to achieve our ambitious goals.”
With their involvement in truck racing, Austone And Fortune Tires aim to significantly boost their visibility in the European market. Increasing brand awareness within the trucker community is a key objective. At the same time, the goal is to create a positive image for both sister brands, as Sales Director Adrian Costache points out: “A strong presence in motorsport gives our B2B partners a huge advantage in sales.” Through this sponsorship, both brands are also openly engaging with end consumers for the first time: the races attract thousands of spectators and industry professionals.
The season opener of the European Championship takes place in Misano, Italy on May 17–18. The German racing and truck community is especially looking forward to the fourth of seven races: the Truck Grand Prix at the Nürburgring in July.
Lots of horsepower, low CO₂: Big rigs running on eco-diesel and retreads
Austone and Fortune Tires develop products that meet high-performance standards. For all truck, bus, and car tyres, the core values are performance, innovation, and sustainability.
“One question naturally comes up,” says Thomas Wohlgemuth; “How do our sustainability goals align with sponsoring truck racing?” The series is a role model in combining two seemingly opposing ideas. “The European Truck Racing Championship was the first FIA series in the world to mandate the use of sustainable fuel. The HVO100 biodiesel reduces CO₂ emissions by roughly 90%.
“In addition, all tyres used on the racetrack are systematically retreaded and reused in transport operations. “It’s a concept we fully support. Extending the life of each tyre makes perfect sense. Our casings are also retreaded. Brand new is the ‘RINGTREAD RTH 155’—just as excellent as our TH 155 new tyre!”
Sales Director Adrian Costache is looking forward to the 2025 race calendar with excitement. He expects great conversations and spectacular racing battles as Luke Garret gives it his all in his self-built MAN truck. “He’s a perfect match for us. Full of energy, competitive, and determined to conquer Europe!”
