Hankook Tyre UK is supporting lifesaving emergency care by donating 12 Laufenn all-season tyres to Festival Medical Services.

Hankook Donates Tyres to Festival Medical Services

Tyre manufacturer Hankook continues its support of vital emergency services by equipping frontline vehicles with high-quality tyres. Hankook Tyre UK has donated 12 Laufenn tyres to Festival Medical Services (FMS), a volunteer-run, non-profit charity. FMS delivers professional medical support at major UK events and supports medical charities worldwide. Staffed by qualified medical professionals, FMS reinvests all surplus funds into charitable healthcare projects, ensuring both immediate event safety and lasting social impact.

Hankook fitted three FMS ambulances with Laufenn X Fit Van 4S tyres, designed for safety, reliability, and long-lasting performance. This ensures FMS crews can continue their lifesaving work with confidence.

Festival Medical Services’ Role in UK Event Medical Care

Since the charity’s inception in 1979, FMS has grown into one of the UK’s most respected event medical providers. Highly skilled NHS doctors and nurses deliver hospital-level care at major UK events in partnership with Ambulance Services. This collaboration protects local emergency resources and ensures communities have continued access to emergency care during events.

Hankook’s Ongoing Support for Medical Charities

David Parry, Chief Operating Officer & Executive Trustee from Festival Medical Services, said, “We are deeply grateful to Hankook for the generous sponsorship of tyres for our ambulances, which makes a vital difference to our small charity and our ability to support causes worldwide.”

“Although our vehicles typically cover relatively low mileage, they are used predominantly off-road, where tyres are often vulnerable to sidewall and tread damage, making this support invaluable to us. Most recently, one of our older vehicles fitted with Laufenn all-season tyres completed a challenging journey to Ukraine, safely navigating deep snow and temperatures as low as -20°C—a powerful testament to the quality and reliability of Hankook tyres.”

Hankook’s support for medical charities spans many years. Its most notable partnership is with the Air Ambulance Services across Northamptonshire, Warwickshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland. The partnership began in 2017, when Hankook donated its first tyres for the charity’s Critical Care Cars. The Air Ambulance cannot operate helicopters in darkness or extreme weather. Hankook-equipped vehicles enable clinicians to deliver lifesaving care on the ground 365 days a year. Hankook’s latest FMS donation continues its legacy, keeping ambulances ready to provide reliable, rapid support whenever needed.

Hankook is proud to stand behind charities whose work makes a real difference to people’s lives. The company looks forward to continuing its partnerships and exploring new opportunities to support organisations that provide essential, life-changing services.

Hankook Highlights Commitment to Lifesaving Care

Neil Barrett, EV Lead & Key Account Manager at Hankook, commented, “We’re delighted to be able to donate our all-season Laufenn tyres to Festival Medical Services, a recipient of the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service, to help in their mission to provide world-class medical care to festival goers throughout the UK. Our Laufenn X Fit Van 4S tyres fitted to their emergency vehicle fleet will help deliver outstanding performance and safety all year round, whatever the conditions.”

Barrett continued, ”I am proud to be 1 of 1500 volunteers of this great charity whose dedication and commitment have donated over 1 million pounds to good causes around the world.”
