Alliance Field Day in Amaliada, Greece: Practical Insights into How to Save Your Soil
Alliance, a leading global brand of agricultural and off-highway tyres, hosted an engaging and hands-on Field Day on 7th September 2025 in Amaliada, Greece.
The event, organised in collaboration with Alliance’s distributor KDM, brought together farmers, tyre dealers, and industry professionals from across Greece to explore the latest advancements in tractor and loader tyre technology and their impact on soil health, machine efficiency, and sustainable farming.
Alliance is a brand of Yokohama-ATG, which has previously hosted a successful Field Day for its Galaxy tyre brand in Greece earlier this year.
Field Demonstrations: Tyre Technology in Action
The Field Day featured a series of interactive demonstrations designed to highlight the crucial role of tyre pressure and technology in modern agriculture.
Attendees had the opportunity to experience first-hand how Alliance’s innovative tyre solutions, including the AGRISTAR II 370, Alliance 705, and Alliance 706, improve soil preservation, reduce slippage, and enhance operational efficiency.
Key highlights included:
- Footprint Test: Participants observed the footprint left by tractor tyres on soil at different inflation levels (low, nominal, high). Contrast sand highlighted the differences.
- Pressure Test: Participants learned how to calculate optimal tyre pressure based on axle load. They observed how changes in pressure affect the rolling circumference of the tyre.
- Compaction Test: A prepared soil pit illustrated how tyres at different pressures compact the soil. Markers indicated the depth and extent of soil deformation.
- Slippage Test: Using a tractor with a heavy plough, this demonstration compared the distance travelled under different tyre pressures. It showed the relationship between inflation and tyre slippage.
- Loader Demonstration: A practical session assessed loader tyre performance, focusing on stability and grip in real-world conditions.
Showcasing Alliance’s Advanced Tyre Solutions
The event featured a range of tractors and machines fitted with AGRISTAR II 370, Alliance 705, and Alliance 706 tyres. Each demonstration was supported by technical equipment, explanatory materials, and on-site staff to guide participants and answer questions.
A highlight of the day was the Agri Star II tyre, Alliance’s flagship model. This tyre recently surpassed 1 million units sold worldwide — a testament to its success and reliability in the agricultural sector.
