Q1 2025 Report

ADINE has published its data on tyre imports from Asia to Spain, showing that truck and/or bus tyre imports from Asia grew by 9.5% so far, with notable import increases from Vietnam (+53.8%) and Japan (+178.8%). The agricultural segment grew by 27.9%, reaching 84,820 units, led by India with 57,270 units (67%). Construction, mining, and off-highway tyre imports increased by 23.8% to 44,930 units, with India (50%) and China (29%) being the primary countries of origin.

April 2025 Monthly Data

Truck and/or bus tyre imports declined by 2.9% in April 2025, reaching 53,580 units, according to the latest ADINE data. Significant increases were registered from Vietnam (+98%), South Korea (+55.9%), and Japan (+224%). Agricultural tyre imports increased by 18.7% in April, with 25,690 units, while India stood out as the primary source (67%). Construction and mining tyre imports fell by 35.1% to 8,150 units, with India dominating the market (74%).

ADINE’s Executive Secretary, Óscar Bas, commented: “We observed a slowdown in truck tyre imports, with a temporary decline in April. The high concentration in countries such as China and India continues to set the tone for foreign tyre trade, although the rebound in countries such as Vietnam, Japan, and South Korea is also noteworthy. All of this is occurring in an unstable geopolitical context, with persistent tensions in the Middle East and the Red Sea, which are causing increases in logistics costs and some uncertainty regarding the continuity of supply flows. Furthermore, the anti-dumping investigation opened by the European Commission on imports of new passenger car and light truck tyres from China has also created a climate of regulatory uncertainty. Given the potential imposition of provisional measures in the coming months, everything indicates that importers will place orders early to avoid the impact of potential tariffs, which could lead to a further surge in Asian tyre imports in the short term.”
