For the third year, Hankook sponsors the Ballon d’Or™ as it celebrates its 70th anniversary in London.
A Third Year of Ballon d’Or™ Sponsorship Marks a Milestone Anniversary in London
Hankook is returning as the official sponsor of the prestigious Ballon d’Or™, as the 70th anniversary ceremony takes place in London on 26th October for the first time, with a new competition offering one lucky fan the chance to attend.
For the third year in a row, premium tyre manufacturer Hankook is the official sponsor of the Ballon d’Or™. This award recognises the best individual performance from the past professional football season and has established itself as the world’s highest honour for individual excellence in football. This year’s award ceremony will take place in London for the first time on 26 October 2026. The event also marks the award’s 70th anniversary.
As a special experience for football fans, Hankook is hosting a competition to win a ticket to attend the award ceremony. Information on participation and the competition conditions are available at Ballon d’Or 2026 – Hankook Tire.
International Sports Platforms Strengthen the Hankook Brand Presence
Through its sponsorship activities, Hankook has adopted an internationally oriented strategy of selected partnerships at the global, European, and national levels. This approach focuses on motorsport and football platforms with wide reach and high visibility in key markets. With its renewed commitment to the Ballon d’Or™, the company is underlining its intention to further expand its brand presence through prestigious sporting events with a global audience. At the same time, this involvement provides valuable touchpoints with fans, customers, and business partners worldwide.
France Football created the Ballon d’Or™ in 1956. Since 2024, France Football, part of the L’équipe Group, has presented the award in conjunction with UEFA. Organisers chose London for the anniversary celebration to honour the first award winner, Stanley Matthews, a member of the English national team who won the Ballon d’Or™ in 1956.
The organisers will host the award ceremony at the London Palladium Theatre, where judges will announce the successors to Aitana Bonmatí and Ousmane Dembélé.
