Until recently Apollo Tyres’ focus in the truck tyre segment has been largely restricted to regional and mixed-use applications. However, at IAA Transportation in Hannover, the company took the opportunity to reveal three new EnduMile long-haul tyres designed to deliver on the high mileage expectations of hauliers, whilst also maintaining fuel efficiency and durability. The new tyres join Apollo Tyres’ established EnduMile LHT trailer tyre, thereby completing the brand’s line-up of products developed specifically for long-haul fleets.

The new EnduMile portfolio consists of the EnduMile LHA and LH Front, both of which have been designed primarily for steer-axle applications, although the EnduMile LHA also offers an all-position capability, and the EnduMile LHD, which has been designed for drive-axles. The whole EnduMile range carries the Three-Peak Mountain Snowflake marking, certifying suitability for use in demanding winter conditions.

The extended long-haul range will become available to the market at the start of 2027 and focuses on one of the core attributes of the Apollo brand – mileage. Indeed, during controlled European field testing, the new Endumile LHA all-position tyre was claimed to have delivered 10% greater mileage than one of Apollo’s leading tier 1 competitors.

On hand to oversee the launch of the new tyres was Vice President and Managing Director, Yves Pouliquen, who revealed the plans for the Indian brand’s further expansion into the European market.

“Having made the decision to stick to the Apollo brand in the truck tyre segment, we are now growing quickly on a European level and have reached a 10% market share in some countries,” he said. “We want to continue to grow and are focussing on leveraging our relationship with expert dealers and service providers. We do not operate with a wholesale model. Instead, we cover the territory we work in geographically, collaborating with a network of key dealer partners. We don’t sell the tyres everywhere.”

In the UK, Apollo now has a strong network of regional dealers including the likes of BA Bush, Elite Garages, G&S Tyres, Harry’s Tyres, Kenway Tyres, Maryport Tyres and Oak Tyres.

“We are also Investing in technicians, who are working with the fleets and collecting data so that our sales team can demonstrate the value of our tyres – the long mileage is a key benefit, added Pouliquen.”

On the subject of retreading Pouliquen pointed out that Apollo branded tyres are retreadable and the company is partnering with retreaders locally across Europe. “We want to demonstrate the value of our casings,” he explained. “With that in mind, we are now testing our own treads with selected retread partners. We don’t plan to retread ourselves, but we are looking to provide a range of treads to these partners.”
