Mobility Sweden published its monthly data on commercial vehicle registrations, showing a weak start of the year for the CV market in Sweden.

According to Mobility Sweden, the beginning of 2026 has been highlighted by weak registrations across all categories. Light commercial vehicle registrations declined by 6% in January 2026, with 2,239 registrations, with Volkswagen, Ford and Mercedes-Benz dominating the market.
Heavy truck registrations recorded an even higher decline of 23% and 311 units registered in January 2026, while Scania, Volvo and DAF were the top three in this category.
Bus registrations declined by almost half (-48%) with 97 registrations only. MAN, Iveco and Mercedes-Benz were the top three brands in this category.
“The weak start to the year is a continuation of the development seen in the autumn. Uncertainty surrounding tariffs and geopolitics means that both private and corporate customers remain cautious and are postponing car purchases,” said Sofia Linder, Chief Economist at Mobility Sweden.
