The National Association of Tyre Distributors and Importers (ADINE) has published the Annual Report on the Tyre Replacement Market in Spain, using official data from the Register of Product Producers (RPP) – Tyres section – published by the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (MITECO).

The ADINE Annual Report

According to the ADINE report, tyre producers placed a total of 24,559,740 new tyres on the Spanish replacement market in 2024, with a total weight of 291,098 tonnes, representing a 9.6% growth compared to 2023, with an additional 2,142,129 units, weighing 26,927 tonnes.

When it comes to commercial tyres, the ADINE annual report showed:

  • Truck and bus: 1,532,446 tyres (6.2%), weighing 84,131 tonnes
  • Agricultural: 231,135 units (0.9%), weighing 13,935 tonnes
  • Public works and industrial: 112,775 units (0.5%), weighing 8,983 tonnes
  • Material handling, solid tyres, quad, gardening and others: 299,266 units (1.2%), weighing 3,372 tonnes

According to Óscar Bas, Executive Secretary of ADINE, “The official data from MITECO highlights the strategic importance of the tyre replacement market within mobility and transport in Spain. The growth recorded in 2024 reflects solid demand across virtually all segments and confirms the need to continue moving forward, in a coordinated manner, towards a sector model that is increasingly efficient and aligned with sustainability and regulatory compliance objectives.”

ADINE also reminded stakeholders that, according to Article 8.2 of Royal Decree 712/2025 on end-of-life tyres, all tyre producers must report the information on new, used and retreaded tyres placed on the national market during 2025 to MITECO. The association also warned that failure to comply with these obligations may constitute a serious administrative offence under Law 7/2022, with financial penalties ranging from €2,001 to €100,000 (Article 109.1).
