The latest data on commercial vehicle (CV) registrations in Germany shows a slight market recovery in November.
CV Registrations by VDA
In November 2025, VDA reported a total of 31,572 new commercial vehicle registrations, representing a 3 % increase compared to November 2024. This modest growth shows a degree of continued market activity heading into the year-end, even as broader economic caution persists. However, year-to-date data show a 7% decline, with 321,416 units.
Light commercial vehicles (LCV) reported 24,733 units registered in November, which is 1 % year-on-year growth, a sign of continued demand among smaller commercial segments. Year-to-date data shows a 5% decline, with 251,941 units. Heavy truck registrations grew by 8% in November with 4,751 units, while year-to-date data shows a 14% decline with 49,097 units.
The bus segment showed a significant uplift in November, with 773 new registrations, representing an 82 % increase year-on-year. This growth suggests renewed activity in public transport and private coach fleet renewals, potentially tied to procurement cycles or investment in updated fleets ahead of 2026.
Despite this positive month-on-month November performance in key segments, total commercial vehicle registrations remain below 2024’s cumulative totals, which suggests that broader market conditions, such as economic caution, logistics sector pressures, or replacement cycle timing, continue to temper full-year demand.
