ADINE Report on Tyres
The National Association of Tyre Distributors and Importers (ADINE) has published its monthly report on the Asian tyre imports in Spain, showing a 1.6% decline in tyre and/or bus tyre imports from January 2025 to May 2025, with a total of 198,830 tyres imported, with increases only from Vietnam (+29%) and Japan (+145.5%).
Meanwhile, the agricultural segment recorded strong growth of 40.4%, with 117,280 units, with India as the absolute leader (70%). Finally, imports of construction, mining, and industrial tyres grew by 41.5%, with 61,050 units, with India (60%) as the main supplier.
In May 2025, truck and/or bus tyre imports plummeted by 32.8%, down to 35,660 units, with India as the only country showing growth (+185%). The agricultural segment recorded an 88.6% increase, with 32,450 units, led by India (77%). Finally, imports of construction, mining, and industrial tyres grew by 135.1%, reaching 16,130 units, with India accounting for 87% of total imports.
ADINE’s executive secretary, Óscar Bas, stated: “The ICEX data up to May 2025 reflect the current volatility of imports, with strong growth in the cumulative year in segments such as consumer, agricultural, or construction, but with significant declines in May, especially in the truck segment. This evolution is clearly influenced by the economic situation and the slowdown in consumption. The divergent behaviour between segments shows that the market is facing a complex context, where domestic demand, macroeconomic developments, and regulations such as the EUDR or antidumping measures will set the pace in the coming months.”
