Solid December Caps Year of Recovery for German Tractor Market

Recovery German Tractor Market

With 3,900 tractors registered in December 2021, this constitutes a 142% increase on December 2020, when 1,611 tractors were registered. This impressive rise helped end the year 9.4% ahead of 2020 levels, in statistics released by Profi.

Healthy Year of Recovery for German Tractors

With November having 2,570 tractors registered, this amounted to an 8.7% increase on November 2020. At that time for the year-to-date, tractor registrations were 5.1% ahead of sales for January-November 2020. Therefore, it is evident just how impressive the month of December was for the final year-on-year figures. In total, 34,562 tractors were registered in 2021, easily surpassing the 31,585 units registered in 2020.

John Deere remains the first tractor of choice with a solid 17.8% market share, amounting to 6,164 units. Fendt is a fairly close second with 16.7% of sales, or 5,765, although this figure amounts to a dip for the manufacturer, as Fendt had 6,818 sales in 2020, which amounted to a 21.6% share.

Overall, the figures match the high increase in year-on-year figures for Italy (36%) and the UK (15.8%), which is helping the agricultural industry across Europe start 2022 with confidence for the year ahead.
