Spanish Agricultural Sales Remain Depressed

Spanish Agricultural Sales

Post-Covid there had been an expectation that the agricultural sector would see a revival, but the latest registration figures from Spain’s Ministerio De Agricultura, Pesca e Alimentation show further decline.

Spanish Agricultural Equipment Sales Continue Downward Trend

The registration figures for July make for depressing reading as the overall agricultural equipment registrations in Spain have fallen by 13.29 per cent year-to-date.

The comparison between July 2021 and July 2022 is making for better reading though with an increase of just 4% – created largely by increases in suspended equipment such as seed planters and fertiliser and water spreaders. Tractors, harvesters and trailers are all down month-on-month for July. For example, tractor registrations are 14.78% down on July 2021 with 721 registrations which amounts to 5,625 over the year.

The strongest markets remain in Castille y Leon and Andalucia, two of the most agricultural provinces in Spain.
