Agricultural and Industrial Tyres

Part 1 in our Agricultural Tyre Feature for Commercial Tyre Business sees us speak to Continental’s Agricultural Specialist, Richard Hutchins as we drill down into the current state of the agricultural tyre sector, the challenges that the manufacturer is having to face, as well as their upcoming product developments.

The new BKT-branded product has been created to equip loaders and telehandlers used for heavy-duty operations. Some of the distinguishing features include extreme resistance, high load capacity, stability and comfort.

Cris Services Group, the Purfleet-based concrete haulier and commercial repairs specialist, has reduced workshop costs, extended tyre life and cut vehicle downtime since acquiring a Josam wheel alignment system and portable heat inductor from AES UK.

Continental has announced a five-year contract with Continental-owned tyre dealer, R&J Strang Tyre Services Ltd, building on 35-year working relationship. The fleet utilises a combination of Continental CrossTrac HS3 and Bandvulc Big D tyres for outstanding performance on-and-off road.

Vaculug has announced the launch of their latest tyre designed for the waste sector. A brand new Urban All Position Tyre designed with a 5-rib PROTEKT+ dual sidewall protection system; providing the best defense against kerbing damage.

The Magna M-Terminal has proven to be a sustainable investment for a port operator with the products working at speed on terminal tractors or heavy-loaded terminal trailers in container yards.

Firestone's MULTI BLOCK T is designed for both wheel loaders and articulated dump trucks and covers a large area of the off-road market.

Magna Tyres Group recently announced that the Magna M-Terminal tyres are now available on Terberg terminal tractors. Magna Tyres Group is the official supplier to a major manufacturer of terminal tractors in the global port handling industry.

Poole, Dorset-based walking floor specialists, D&L Haulage (Dorset) Ltd have always paid for tyre services on an as-and-when basis but not anymore, says the company. These days they're saving time and money thanks to the TyreWatch tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) and tyre service provider Universal Tyres.

With an ever-evolving agricultural industry comes the need for increased productivity and efficiency. Looking at agricultural mechanisation, this orientation means developing increasingly powerful and heavy machinery, designed to support large loads.
