After 15 years at the helm, David Smith has now confirmed his retirement, with Tarik Görgün to lead the UK and Irish markets from 1 March 2022.

Andreas Mätschke is the new head of Continental’s Lower Saxony centre, where he will be working in an overarching capacity for the four main business areas.

Public affairs and external affairs activities at Continental are now consolidated under the leadership of Dr. Thorsten Burger.

Hankook has announced that Isaac Ortega will be its new General Co-Director for the Spanish and Portuguese markets.

Bonset has been an integral part of Continental’s media team as an external communications officer for its industrial sector since November last year. Bonset will be discussing all topics related to positioning air springs and vibration elements, conveyor belting, automotive and industrial hoses, drive belts and surface materials in the media.

The Prometeon Tyre Group UK has appointed Jamie Courtnage as Business Development Manager for the North East. Courtnage will take on new business and accountment for Prometeon’s truck, bus and coach operators, and tyre dealers from Norwich right up to the Scottish Borders.

John Howe will take on the role of Michelin Managing Director for the UK & Ireland from 2022. Howe will also hold the role of B2C Sales Director, with responsibility for the company’s car, motorcycle and bicycle markets.

Alison Jones will take on the role of Senior Vice President at SMMT, in news announced at the organisation's 104th Annual Dinner, Jones will take on the role at the start of 2022.

 

Joining the Continental Communications team in September 2021, Reinhold has succeed Anika Hannig, who will become the Head of Communications for the Specialty Tyres business unit.

Ywenco Philipsen has started a new role with the Magna Tyres Group as Commercial Director HQ. His responsibilities include all marketing and sales-related operations. As a highly qualified Commercial Director with a strong background in sales and marketing disciplines, Philipsen will no doubt further develop Magna's strong market position.
